General Information About Air-Cooled Chiller Units
An air-cooled chiller removes heat from process water in the evaporator and rejects it to outdoor air through its condenser and fans. The water circuit and refrigerant circuit are separate. Its main refrigeration components are the evaporator, compressor, condenser and expansion device.

Air-cooled or water-cooled chiller?
Air-cooled equipment rejects heat to outdoor air and generally does not need a condenser cooling tower. Water-cooled equipment requires assessment of condenser water infrastructure, water quality, consumption and maintenance. Compare energy use and total cost at the actual temperatures and part-load conditions.
