General Information About Water-Cooled Chiller Units
A water-cooled chiller transfers heat from the process water to a separate condenser water circuit. This heat is generally rejected through a cooling tower or another suitable heat rejection system. Process and condenser water circuits must be assessed separately.
Air-cooled or water-cooled chiller?
Air-cooled equipment rejects heat to outdoor air and generally does not need a condenser cooling tower. Water-cooled equipment requires assessment of condenser water infrastructure, water quality, consumption and maintenance.
