Chiller Faults: Symptoms and Service Information

A chiller fault cannot be diagnosed reliably from one symptom. Rising water temperature may relate to increased load, reduced flow, fouling, control issues or refrigeration-circuit conditions.

Technical assessment

Provide the model, complete alarm code, time of first occurrence, liquid temperatures, flow and recent maintenance history. Check alarm meanings in the model-specific manual.

Operating conditions and limits

Do not repeatedly reset a protective shutdown or bridge a flow switch. Refrigerant charging and pressure adjustments require qualified service. Stop equipment safely when hazardous conditions are suspected.

Information needed for selection

Provide the application, operating hours, cooling load, entering and leaving liquid temperatures, fluid type and concentration, flow, site location and environmental conditions. A nominal capacity alone does not replace a detailed equipment selection.

Frequently asked question

Does this guide replace a product performance sheet?

No. It explains selection inputs and technical limits. Confirm the final model, capacity and options through a manufacturer selection at the actual operating conditions.
