What Is a Chiller Condenser?

The condenser rejects refrigerant heat to ambient air or a condenser-water circuit. Heat rejection includes the cooling load and the energy added by compression.

Technical assessment

For air-cooled equipment, assess inlet air temperature and hot-air recirculation. For water-cooled equipment, consider condenser-water temperature, cooling-tower capacity and water quality.

Operating conditions and limits

Fouled surfaces and inadequate air or water flow reduce heat rejection. Use the equipment manual for inspection and cleaning; retain pressure and electrical protection.

Information needed for selection

Provide the application, operating hours, cooling load, entering and leaving liquid temperatures, fluid type and concentration, flow, site location and environmental conditions. A nominal capacity alone does not replace a detailed equipment selection.

Frequently asked question

Does this guide replace a product performance sheet?

No. It explains selection inputs and technical limits. Confirm the final model, capacity and options through a manufacturer selection at the actual operating conditions.
