A scroll compressor compresses refrigerant vapour by reducing the pockets formed between fixed and orbiting scroll elements. Approved refrigerants and the operating envelope are model-specific.

Technical assessment

Fixed-speed, variable-speed and parallel arrangements offer different capacity-control options. Compressor type alone does not guarantee system COP, sound level or an energy-saving percentage.

Provide the application, operating hours, cooling load, entering and leaving liquid temperatures, fluid type and concentration, flow, site location and environmental conditions. A nominal capacity alone does not replace a detailed equipment selection.
